My jewelry exhibited at the 2014 Conjecture and ConChord convention in San Diego. This duo convention was both a literary event for science fiction and fantasy writer enthusiasts, but also hosted a large number of filksingers who gave live performances day and night during the weekend. Many of my treble clef pendants with custom sterling silver bails sold at this event. I thank you all for your continued support. I hope to see you all next year when Conjecture combines with Westercon 2015.
Thank you all for another successful exhibition at San Diego’s Grand Convention, ComicCon International. I’ve been a regular in the Art Show for the past decade and I always look forward to this annual event. I hope to see you all next year!
I hope you will join me at the USS Highland Games in Costa Mesa. We are located at the Fair Grounds. This must be my 10th year of vending at the Games as an artisan jeweler. I look forward to the event each year due to the pleasant people and great location inside the vendor’s hall. If you are coming to the games, I hope you’ll visit the vendor’s hall. There are lots of great things of Celtic theme to see and purchase.
I will be exhibiting on the dealer floor at the 2012 Star Trek Convention. It will take place August 9-12 at the Las Vegas Rio Hotel.
I have plenty of new stock to show off. Forged Heart Earrings with pearls and sterling silver. Wrapped Pi Stone earrings of various types with fine silver bead accents and sterling findings. A new batch of my triple stone earrings featuring some of my more quality stones including neparite jade, lapis lazuli, carnelian, and beautiful white baroque pearls. Naturally, I will be bringing more of my sterling bajorian ear cuffs and will have supplies to make more of them on site at the convention.
I hope to see all my star trek fans there! Please check out my facebook page after the convention for photos of the creatively costumed shoppers that came to my table during the event. All the better dressed klingons, borg and star fleet officers will be there!
In August of 2011, I received my certification as a gemologist from Santiago Canyon College in Southern California. My course of study took three years and I was trained in the identification of colored stones, diamonds, pearls and antique jewelry. Today marks the debut of my first gemological related magazine article. Please visit Serendipity Magazine today and read Symbols in Time. It is one of many interesting articles about the creation and viewpoints of art.
Symbols in Art Vol. I Issue 4
Symbols in Time is on page 85
Symbols in Time is about the symbols that marked antique jewelry from the Victorian period complete with example photos from the private jewelry collection of Roberta Mullings, GG.
Clara was gracious enough to interview me last week and the result is now posted on her blog. Please stop by and pay her website a visit: Clara’s Blog.
One of my favorite events to sell my jewelry is the Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Music Festival. People come from all over Southern California and beyond to relax under the parachute shade cover with a glass of wine and share great music with someone they love. There is dancing all day, plenty of booths of handcrafted fine arts to shop at and lots of great food to enjoy. It makes a perfect get away.
I am the featured artist this week at Kelsi’s Jewelbox Design Journal. Melissa Muir has been kind enough to interview me, not only about my artwork, but about my design space. Please stop by and check out her journal. It has lots of interesting tidbits for artisan jewelers or artists in general.
I am exhibiting my jewelry at the 2011 Comic Con Art Show. My table is in the back of the art show, in front of the windows where all the people that are waiting to register for the convention are forced to wait. Tens of thousands of people will pass by my jewelry each day of the convention even if they don’t enter the art show proper. I’ve been exhibiting at Comic Con for four or five years now and am proud to be one of the many artists on display there.
If you happen to be going to Comic Con this year, do stop by the art show. There are many artists on display to view in the gallery and offerings to purchase that range from fantasy/sci-fi art prints to costume items or jewelry offerings like mine. We are on the upper level near registration and the lunch court.
